The four cylinder bike definitely the most anticipated bike for the past five years and finally
available to Malaysian market this year. The hype is REAL. The launching, the handover
ceremony are making headlines everywhere. Kawasaki even pushing the hype by granting the title King of the 250cc to the bike

Honestly I was super excited when I got the call to ride the bike. All that excitement gone the
moment I first rode the bike. Maybe just because I have too high expectation of the bike. There is
no power in the lower rpm and I have to rev much more just to get the bike going.

But once the rpm hit 12,000, thats where the fun begin. After learning the power curve of the bike,
you will definitely enjoying the bike. It keeps giving and asking you to keep it at that high rpm.
You feel really confident riding the bike as the balance is superb. Lower handlebars giving you the
sports riding position to tackle the headwind on the straight even when you tackle the corners.

What I love the most about this bike is you really got to enjoy the technology of a superbike in a
250cc. Ride by wire, riding mode, monobloc front brakes and even a quickshifter. You definitely
will feel huge difference when comparing Sports mode and Rain mode on this bike. Safe to say, the bike is designed to assist as much as possible for a new rider. With both front and rear brakes
comes with ABS surely helps you navigate in a wet conditions.

As for the suspensions, I would say the front forks is good enough to handle the huge stopping
power of the front brake and you are able to set the preload to suit you weight and riding style.
Cant say the same with the rear suspension as for this variant as it feels too squishy and you dont have the ability to tweak anything.

My verdict is – Kawsaki really focused on achieving both engine performance and user-friendly
low-to-medium rev range. Easy to ride for a new rider coming to 250cc segment, powerful enough for riders who enjoy tackling the corners in high rpms. The tittle ‘King’ really doesn’t comes cheap. Hefty price tags for a 250cc bike but it does comes with that sweet sounds of inline four that scream excitedly on top of its lungs when you wring its throttle.

DEFENSIVE RIDING

“It doesn’t matter how good you are at riding a motorcycle, heck you could even be a GP rider. But you can’t control others on the road and there will always be that one dumbass that can potentially cause you lots of trouble. Stay safe, stay defensive and stay focused on your bike.”
