Shah Alam, Malaysia – 23 January 2026 – Motosikal dan Enjin Nasional Sdn. Bhd. (“MODENAS”), a member of the DRB-HICOM Group, through its distribution arm Edaran Modenas Sdn. Bhd. (EMOS), today launched the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R SE and ZX-4RR in Malaysia. These latest models expand the Ninja supersport range with a premium middleweight platform engineered to deliver a distinctive high-revving inline-four riding experience.
At the heart of both models is a 399cc liquid-cooled, inline four-cylinder DOHC engine, developed to deliver smooth power delivery, exhilarating high-rpm character, and the unmistakable sound and feel associated with Kawasaki’s supersport heritage. Producing up to 57.0 kW at 14,500 rpm, and 58.7 kW with Ram Air, the Ninja ZX-4 platform balances performance excitement with everyday rideability.
While sharing the same core engine and chassis architecture, the Ninja ZX-4RR and ZX-4R SE are purposefully differentiated to suit different riding priorities and environments, offering riders the freedom to choose the supersport experience that best matches their needs.
The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R SE is developed with a street-focused balance, combining the excitement of a high-revving inline-four engine with a setup that prioritises confidence, comfort, and everyday usability. This makes the ZX-4R SE well-suited for daily commuting, weekend rides, and spirited road use while retaining the sharp handling expected of a Ninja supersport.
The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR, meanwhile, adopts a more track-oriented focus, offering riders enhanced adjustability and equipment to support aggressive riding and circuit use. It features fully adjustable Showa suspension, including a Showa BFRC-lite (Balance Free Rear Cushion) rear shock derived from Kawasaki’s flagship supersport technology, along with enhanced front suspension adjustability.

Both the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR and ZX-4R SE are equipped with a dual-direction Kawasaki Quick Shifter (KQS), enabling seamless clutchless upshifts and downshifts for a more engaging and dynamic riding experience. On the ZX-4RR, these capabilities are complemented by subtle performance refinements, including optimised Ram Air and tuning that provide a marginal power advantage, allowing riders to extract greater performance potential in more demanding riding conditions.
Both models are built around a high-tensile steel trellis frame, delivering a balance of rigidity and agility, and are equipped with advanced electronic rider aids including Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC), ABS, selectable Power Modes, and a modern TFT instrumentation display, ensuring confidence and control across a wide range of riding conditions.

Visually, the Ninja ZX-4RR and ZX-4R SE embody Kawasaki’s unmistakable Ninja styling, featuring aggressive aerodynamic bodywork, full LED lighting, and race-inspired design cues. The Ninja ZX-4R SE is available in Metallic Moondusty Gray/Metallic Spark Black and Blizzard White/Spark Black, reinforcing its sporty, road-focused character. The Ninja ZX-4RR is offered in Lime Green/Ebony, visually underscoring its sharper, track-oriented intent.
MODENAS’ Chief Marketing Officer, Hitoshi Inoue, said: “With the Ninja ZX-4RR and ZX-4R SE, Kawasaki offers riders a choice within a single premium inline-four platform. Whether focused on everyday road riding or seeking greater adjustability and control for track use, both models reflect the engineering refinement, excitement, and racing heritage that define the Ninja supersport legacy.”
The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR and ZX-4R SE are now available at all authorised Kawasaki All-Star dealerships nationwide, with display units and customer test rides offered progressively.
The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4RR is priced at RM42,999.00, while the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R SE is priced at RM40,999.00 (excluding insurance and registration). Both models are offered with official Kawasaki warranty coverage and are available nationwide through the Kawasaki All-Star dealer network.
