30 – 31 January 2015
DAY 1
Early in the morning on 30 January 2015, KTM Malaysia CKD factory welcomed all Dukers from all around Malaysia. At 7.00am; registration counter open for all Dukers to register. There were about 200 participants for this convoy. Some riders came from as far as Johor & Pahang. Sharp at 11am, Y.A.M. Dato’ Seri Syed Badlishah Ibni Al-Marhum Tuanku Syed Putra Jamalullail, Chairman of KTM Malaysia CKD, proudly waved the orange KTM flags as a symbolic of starting the journey to Songkhla Bike Week. The convoy went smoothly, without any mishaps. After border check point, we stopped at Sadao to gather before heading straight to Songkhla escorted by Thailand police. At 2.00pm, we arrived at California Hotel in Hat Yai. Straight away after arriving, KTM Malaysia CKD staff distributed the room keys to all participants. In the evening, KTM Hat Yai came to bring all of us to visit the Floating market. The journey took about 30 minutes. Upon arrival at the floating market, all Dukers took this opportunity to buy souvenirs and tried all sort of authentic Thai foods which are not available in Malaysia.This happy & relaxing session took about 2 hours. Everyone went back to the hotel to get their rest and get ready for more on the day 2.
DAY 2
At 8.00am on 31 January 2015, everyone gathered at the lobby to convoy to “Songhkla Bike Week”. It took around 30 minutes to arrive at the Songkhla Bike Week. At 10am charity ride starts with about 200 bikes on the road. For this charity ride, KTM Malaysia CKD owners from Malaysia collaborated with Thailand bikers. Everyone had fun and created great memories together. This charity ride took about 5 hours, we were escorted by Thailand police and we also stopped in the middle of the bridge to take photos. The convoy group reached the hospital, to give them some donation; contribution of were gathered among participants. The mayor of the Songkhla district, presented the donation to the hospital. Once we were done with the hospital convoy, we had our lunch, provided by the organiser for all the riders. On the same time,as the symbolic of the opening for Songkhla Bike week, thousands of fishes were release at the nearby lake, by the Mayor. Sharp at 2.00pm, the group convoy back to Songkhla Bike Week venue. To experience something unique, we took the ferry instead of the bridge for our ride back, giving ample time for all bikers to enjoy the windy & sunshine. At 7.00pm, gala night started. It was a glorious event, with loud music, cultural shows & fireworks. 500 bikers were present of the dinner night.
The next day, everyone gathered at the lobby at 8.00am for the convoy ride back to Malaysia.
