7 December 2016, Olak Lempit – MV Agusta is a renowned Italian motorcycle manufacturer with an illustrious racing history that produces a wide range of motorcycles; from supersport to naked bikes to sport touring motorcycles. Models that complete its current lineup are the F4, F3, Brutale, Brutale Dragster, Rivale, Stradale, and Turismo Veloce. Currently, the manufacturer competes in the World Superbike Championship with its F4 RC 1000cc superbike, and the World Supersport Championship with its F3 675 three-cylinder sportbike.
MV AGUSTA Holding is headed by its CEO, Giovanni Castiglioni, and its bikes are designed at the Castiglioni Research Centre (C.R.C.). With 408 dealers worldwide through a network of 50 importers and distributors, the MV Agusta brand is making a strong presence in the biking scenario, with 5,020 units sold in 2016 and a target of 5,432 units for the coming year of 2017. DNC Asiatic Holdings and their subsidiary “Demak Group” have created a success story in the highly competitive motorcycle industry in Malaysia with assembly plants in both West and East Malaysia approved to assemble motorcycles with engine capacity of more than 500cc.
DNC Asiatic Holdings currently have manufacturing plants in Malaysia and also in Sri Lanka. Both their plants in Kuching, Sarawak and in Olak Lempit, Selangor, house general assembly activities, R&D processes, showrooms, and service centre to cater to the needs Malaysian markets, as well as international market demands. Realising an opportunity to retail an internationally renowned brand in the big bikes segment, DNC Asiatic Holdings now enters into an agreement with MV Agusta to distribute the world renowned brand, as a significant move to become a major international player. This move would also be a learning platform for technical and design superiority for Demak Motor.
To this effect, an agreement has today been signed by MV Agusta Motor SpA and DNC Asiatic Holdings Sdn Bhd to mark the collaboration of both parties for the Exclusive Distribution rights of MV Agusta motorcycles and its related products in Malaysia. MV Agusta Motor SpA was represented by Mr. Judah Sangaran, Far East Country Manager, MV Agusta Motor SpA and Ms. Hu Ying, Executive Director, signed on behalf of DNC Asiatic Holdings Sdn Bhd. The official appointment of MV Agusta sole distributorship was officiated with the signing ceremony between DNC Asiatic Holdings Sdn Bhd represented by Ms. Hu Ying, Executive Director and Mr. Muhamad Zamry Abu Samah, Managing Director for Moto Varese Asiatic Sdn Bhd.
MV Agusta motorcycles in Malaysia would be distributed by Moto Varese Asiatic Sdn Bhd, offering selected variants of all current 8 models in the MV Agusta line up. A new exclusive showroom complete with a 3S centre will be located at Batu Caves, Selangor. To enhance ownership benefits, Moto Varese Asiatic Sdn Bhd will focus on improving and strengthening the after sales services, with special Service Campaigns which would be carried out in the first 6 (six) month of operation. A series of activities is also in the pipeline for current and new MVA owners to enhance their ownership experience. For this purpose, Moto Varese Asiatic Sdn Bhd will embark on promotional activities in both printed media as well as social media to promote the MV Agusta brand.
