It looks like Boon Siew Honda has been pretty active with announcements of their lineups update recently. Today, they are proud to announce the arrival of a new updated version of the Honda CB500X (the one we didn’t favor too much., sorry Honda). But this time, it’s not just a livery update or some gimmick of stripes on the bike; the CB500X receives a noticeable update and maybe this will actually improves the bike a bit more from it’s previously bland performance.
The 2017 CB500XA has been equipped with the new muffler casing and available in three new colors: Asteroid Black Metallic, Candy Rosy Red, and Pearl Horizon White (New for CB500XA).
Honda CB500XA is powered by DOHC 471cc, liquid cooled parallel twin and six speeds that provides an excellent big bike experience. The ‘triangle’ proportion of crankshaft, main shaft and countershaft is very similar to that of Honda’s four-cylinder RR engines and much of the internal structure and engineering is taken directly from both the CBR600RR and CBR1000RR.
This purpose-built lightweight power plant uses a square bore and stroke of 67mm x 66.8mm has enhanced the delivers superb peak power of 37kW at 8,500 rpm and maximum torque reaching 44Nm at 7,000 rpm. Bore size of 67mm is identical to that of the CBR600RR. The piston shape is based upon those used in the CBR1000RR to reduce piston ‘noise’ at high rpm. On top of the LED head and tail lamp, it also carries 17.5 liter big fuel tank that enable the riders go further than ever.
It will be available in Honda Impian showrooms from 9th August 2017 and the recommended showrooms price starts from RM 31,893.28 (CB500X – Standard Type) to RM 35,391.28 (CB500XA – ABS Type). Prices include GST but exclude road tax, insurance and registration. The model comes with two years or 20,000km manufacturing warranty (whichever comes first).
