KTM MALAYSIA is proud to announce the arrival of the much-anticipated 2019 KTM 790
ADVENTURE. The all-new 2019 KTM 790 ADVENTURE revolutionizes the middleweight adventure/dualpurpose segment. It is the result of what KTM owners want from KTM: A motorcycle wholly accessible in terms of seat height, weight, stability and power delivery. In other words, it is meant for everyday riders of every skill level and experience.

The 2019 KTM 790 ADVENTURE combines all day road touring comfort and performance while being the most off-road capable dual-purpose bike in its category. Riders will lose no confidence when the road ends. A new styling alludes to KTM’s proud tradition of
success in rally events such as the Dakar Rally.

At its heart is the 799cc LC8c DOHC parallel-Twin which features a 75o crankpin offset, to mimic the bigger 1290 cc 75o V-Twins. The LC8c name means, “Liquid-cooled, 8-valve, compact” – KTM engineers chose the format for its compactness, allowing for optimal engine placement. Hence it results in superb motorcycle weight distribution, besides a longer swingarm. The 2019 KTM 790 ADVENTURE’s LC8c engine is tuned for low RPM tractability, smoothness and higher load capability. It produces 94 hp (70 kW) and 88 Nm of torque.

The six-speed gearbox also has KTM’s trademarked PASC (Power Assist Slipper Clutch) installed. The PASC increases clutch pressure while acceleration, allowing the cable actuated clutch lever to be operated with a single finger. On deceleration or hard braking, the clutch pressure is relieved slightly to avoid rear wheel chatter for smoother and confident cornering.

Similar to the engine, the frame is made to be light and compact, utilizing welded thinner-walled molybdenum steel sections. This frame has a finely tuned rigidity distribution to provide a sporty feel with ample feedback to the rider. The engine interfaces with this frame as a stressed member for further weight reduction. Another benefit of the new engine-new frame marriage is the low seat height of just 850 mm, despite the use of 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels.

As a result of all the weight saving measures, the 2019 KTM 790 ADVENTURE weight in at a svelte 189 kg, dry.

The 2019 KTM 790 ADVENTURE line-up features an underslung fuel tank to lower the motorcycle’s centre of gravity. This feature provides the rider with the best motorcycle stability and handling, besides allowing freedom of movement. The 20-litre capacity offers up to 450 km of riding between top-ups.

Another aspect of KTM’s motorcycles complying to our corporate “Ready to Race” mantra is the suspension. The 2019 KTM 790 ADVENTURE uses specially-developed WP 43mm upside-down forks. A WP steering damper keeps front end movements in check. The rear suspension is a WP shock absorber adjustable for preload.

Complementing the hard parts is a suite of intuitive electronics package, making the 2019 KTM 790 ADVENTURE true all-terrain capabilities. Standard functions include Ride-by-Wire throttle (RbW), lean angle sensitive Motorcycle Traction Control (MTC) and cornering ABS, Offroad ABS and Offroad Ride Mode.

The rider can install the optional Rally Pack which includes Rally Mode. The mode allows the rider to choose the level of rear wheel slip and throttle response level to suit the off-road conditions. Another option is Quickshifter+ for seamless clutchless up and downshifts.

Additionally, as with the latest KTMs, the bike features a full-colour TFT display which could be expanded with the optional KTM MY RIDE smartphone integration.

Enhancing its image as the cutting-edge motorcycle is its design which will surely become the standard bearer for its class. The KTM 2019 790 ADVENTURE has the split LED lighting as part of KTM’s family line-up.

Last but perhaps more importantly, is the bike’s high level of all-day comfort. The new seat cover provides grip and ease of movement. The rider’s seat is tapered sharply towards the tank for provide an ease for the legs to reach the ground, besides being height adjustable. The new windscreen is adjustable for height.
