Pekema Academy Launched: Offers Professional Diploma Accredited by UTM

October 3, 2019 – Pekema (Association of Malaysian Automobile Importers and Traders) has acted by establishing Pekema Academy based at Wisma Yayasan Pekema, Cyberjaya. Formerly Pekema Academy was known as “Pekema Learning Center” which was specially designed to provide training for Pekema members, AP Holders and franchise holders nationwide.

Today’s ceremony was the launching of the academy and signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Pekema and UTMSPACE to offer professional diploma courses in automotive, sales and sales management. Three courses has been offered are “Auto Diagnostic Professional Professional Diploma”, “Auto Sales Consultant Professional Diploma” and “Strategic Professional and Business Management Diploma”.

According to Pekema Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mohamad Shalan Hassan, the partnership involved the UTM Academy and UTM’s School of Professional Education & Continuing Education (UTMSpace). This course is designed to give more exposure to industry players who want to enhance their existing knowledge and skills.

The study session for the course will begin in January next year and will not only be open to existing industry participants, but will also be open to postgraduate students and public. The duration of each course of study for one session is 12 months (3 semesters) and the course will be held at Wisma Yayayan Pekema, Cyberjaya.

At the event, Pekema was represented by Datuk Zainuddin Abd Rahman as President Pekema while UTMSPACE was represented by Prof. Dr. Azlan Ab Rahman is the Chief Executive Officer of UTMSPACE.

In terms of faculty, the selected lecturers are from industry professionals to facilitate students to interact face-to-face. While the modules will be provided from the academy. In addition to theoretical classes, the academy will also provide practical training for students to facilitate students’ understanding of the course.

For the study fees that will be charged for the study of a professional diploma, it is well worth then RM10,000 for each course offered.
