Suzuki caught crowds off guard at the 2026 KL International Motorshow (KLIMS) with the surprise unveiling of the SV-7 GX. Drawing heavy design inspiration from its larger sibling, the GSX-S1000 GX, this new sports tourer offers a pure, road-biased alternative to the brand’s more dirt-oriented V-Strom 650.
At its heart sits Suzuki’s proven 645 cc, 90-degree V-twin engine, now fully Euro 5+ emissions compliant. Shared with the V-Strom, the powerplant delivers 73 PS at 8,500 rpm and 64 Nm of torque at 6,800 rpm. Power is managed via a six-speed gearbox paired with a standard quickshifter and a traditional chain final drive.

Suzuki equipped the SV-7 GX with a robust electronics suite managed through a 4.2-inch TFT display. Riders can toggle between three ride modes: ‘A’ for aggressive sport riding, ‘B’ for everyday road use, and ‘C’ for wet weather, which caps output at 60 PS. A three-level, switchable traction control system and standard two-channel ABS round out the rider aids.
Built strictly for tarmac, the motorcycle rides on 17-inch wheels front and rear. The chassis features 41 mm telescopic front forks with 125 mm of travel, a preload-adjustable rear monoshock with 129 mm of travel, and a modest 135 mm of ground clearance. Braking duties are handled by a Tokico four-piston caliper on a single 240 mm front disc, paired with a single-piston rear setup.
Weighing in at 211 kg, the tourer targets everyday usability with an accessible 795 mm seat height and a 17.4-liter fuel tank. Standard touring amenities include a three-position manually adjustable windshield, handguards, an adjacent USB-C charging port, smartphone connectivity, and signature all-LED projector lighting.
