Well first of all, this is not really a hot news from the oven, but nevertheless; it is still really an interesting piece of news to share. For one day a year, thousands of distinguished gentleman and genteel ladies in hundreds of cities worldwide press their cravats, starch their tweed and sit astride their classic-styled motorcycles to raise funds for prostate cancer research and awareness. This year on 28 September 2014, over 200 gentlemen and genteel ladies of Vespa Club Malaysia aboard their splendid two-wheeled beauties in dapper attires to join forces for The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride Kuala Lumpur 2014.
Vespa Malaysia and Vespa Club Malaysia is proud to be a part of this meaningful ride. It’s a day all about spreading merriment while raising awareness of a truly important issue. An estimated 20,000 smartly-dressed gentlefolk graced the streets in over 220 cities to straddle the saddle in the name of men’s health. It was a themed ride, a great way to combat the often-negative stereotype of men on motorcycles too.
Us in Malaysian Riders felt that it is cool to see the trend and community is growing year by year in a positive direction. At least, there is something different that we can look forward to every year. It is also a fresh way to enjoy our motoring passion apart from all the racing that we’ve been participating and all the new bikes that we’ve been gawking at recently.
